What type of bread do I feed my little guy 8 months old? I have read white bread since brown bread is high in fiber and harder to digest. As well avoid nutty breads all together. But white bread isn't very nutritious. Just wondering what other moms have given. Thanks

I think brown bread is best - I imagine all the thousands of generations of human babies that were fed food that was wholemeal and un-processed, it has to be best! Avoid anything with peanuts but other seeds and crushed nuts (eg walnuts) should be fine. Giving him a variety of flavours will help him get used to all sorts of things and not become a picky eater.

I've fed my little man on a variety of breads since he was 5 months old. He's had white, wholegrain, multigrain and brown to no ill effect at all.

I've even tried him out with peanut butter as they now say it's best to test bubs on a small amount now to help build up a resistance rather than leave it till he's older.

Sometimes I think there is too much information and worry out there about what should/shouldn't be done...as my parents said "it's amazing any babies survived before all of this information came to light".

Hope this helps. :)

My son has always eaten 100% whole wheat bread and has never had a problem. Sometimes I buy potato bread.

wheat is the healhiest....and you want the fiber....fiber is good for the system!

definitely brown bread....if he's been eating baby cereal, then his tummy can handle it....baby cereal is whole grain these days.

White bread is best, because the stomach and intestines of a baby cannot handle other bread yet. When your baby is bigger and can eat everything you can switch to brown bread. That is the way i did it.
