If you do some research and stick to it, you may be able to establish at the very least enough milk for you to give your baby for comfort, maybe you can get your milk back. Just don't sacrifice the time you can spend bonding and enjoying our baby in an effort to make milk. It is a worth while endeavor, for sure, but your baby will be fine if it does not happen. Do you have access to a milk bank? I donated my local hospital, I received no money for my milk and I have no idea what your cost would be, but then you could give baby breast milk.

While it is going to be challenging, it is possible. Breastfeeding is a learned art for both mom and baby. Check out Dr. Jack Newman, he has lots of information on establishing and reestablishing lactation. Good luck, just remember if it does not work, don't sweat it. Your baby will be fine, you can snuggle and bond with him even with a bottle. Take the time to enjoy him. These early months are so fleeting and so full of amazing changes.
