Breast feeding mom. Extra bleeding after 1st period.

Have weaned my 11month old so we can start on another baby. Finally got a period. It lasted my usual 7 days. 2 weeks later I'm having bleeding. Enough to wear a light panty liner. Should I have this extra bleeding after my 1st period?

The first period after birth is really really odd, and different than any other. Like pregnancies, there is a wide range of normal. If you're bleeding HEAVILY for several weeks, I would talk to a doctor, but a pantyliner, to me, doesn't seem like anything to be concerned about. My first period was very painful, long, and there was a lot- think about it though- when you get your period every month or so, it is releasing the lining of your uterus- so it's been building up for several months- it makes sense that it would be longer. If you are concerned, call your doc on the phone and talk to the on call nurse. For me, it took a few periods for them to regulate.
