My nephew would nurse 45 minutes straight as a newborn. 7.5 hours straight on the breast w/out a break isn't good for anyone cuz you will LOSE your mind. I'd say if it's been more than 30 minutes at the same breast... switch sides... and then give both of you a bit of a break. Nursing frequently IS a good thing, but make sure you get a break in between for a bit.

Are you nursing 7.5 hours straight? Like that is one feeding? If that is the case that is NOT normal. At the most a newborn may nurse 40 mins. But 7.5 hours in one sitting is him sleeping and using you as a pacifire as he sleeps. This also means you will not produce milk efciently as he is not nursing....you need the stages of nursing to get milk production.

That is not nursing, that is pacifying. True feeding takes between 10-15 minutes on each side. Sometimes longer, but not 7.5 hours.
