Breastfeeding and dairy free but still having issues

I have a nearly 5 month old baby who is exclusively breast fed, I have given up dairy as he has been a very gassy, unhappy baby since he was born, and since giving up dairy he has been so much better. However he still has some of the old symptoms, red ring around anus, he can still get very gassy and irritable, sleeping is a problem, and sometimes mucous in his poo. Whenever I mention anything to the Dr, I get brushed off as these can all be normal problems in a new baby. I also find I have a bit of an oversupply problem but I do feed from one side until completely drained, although this can be hard when my baby is irritable and not feeding much as a result. I am at a loss as to who I go to for help, and I go back to work in a month for 2 days a week, so am starting to freak out about how baby will go at daycare, and not to mention how I will go when I am so exhausted. I am struggling to find any routine due to his problems as it can take hours to get him to sleep sometimes. I have a 3 year old daughter as well and didn't have any of these problems with her. If anyone has had any similar experiences I would love to hear.

Sometimes certain other foods can cause gassiness and discomfort for babies. Bananas were a culprit for my kids. Any time I ate one, I had a fussy baby. Perhaps see if there might be anything else in your diet that could be causing these problems. Basically, if it makes you gassy, it could be making your baby gassy as well. However, I think I would really be pushing the doctor to help me understand why my baby is still having these symptoms, even after cutting out dairy.
