Breastfeeding in public family shame

Hi I was raised with a very pro public breastfeeding mother so as the oldest of 5 seeing her breast was very normal and not to be thought of. So when my first child was born I had the exact same mindset. I am not ashamed of my breast I could really care less who gets a nipple flash trying to feed my 15 mo but have recently caught tons of backlash from my bf side of the family who all formula feed their kids. And are not use to seeing the horrible breast. Nothing is changing I'm not gonna go to a bedroom alone to feed my daughter. If I don't care they see my boob why do they care they can see it?

You do what you want. I breastfed all of my children and would do it in public as well. If my child needed a feed then it would get it.
At least you are saving money and don't have to worry about washing bottles, having enough while you are out or even worry about running out of formula.
If they are your house then you can let them know that they can go and sit in a room while you feed where you want and you will call them when you've finished.
Sorry but I hate people like that. What do they think breasts are for!?!?!?! They are NOT for a man's pleasure, they are there to FEED BABIES!!!!!

I am a single young breastfeeding mom from Europe, the breast in the US is considered very obscene and nasty....we nurse in public any time we wish here.....also you see nude families in the park picnicking an playing volley- ball etc.just proudly hold your believes and they need to be ashamed of their seeing the body as nasty...the body is natural beautiful, that is why my kids and i oldest boy is 12,, we all never wear cloths at home or on our private land

I agree with what Michelle said, but, if you are in their home and they are upset about it, then you may want to respect their home and go to another room. If you're in public or your home, then do what you want and they have no say in the matter.

It's a stupid double standard that men can go topless and women can't. If women's boobs (which are made to feed babies) are thought of as sex organs, then men's nipples which serve absolutely no other purpose than as sex organs should be covered as well. It doesn't make sense.
