Now when I said "may or may not go away". By that I meant, it will most certainly go away if you use sunscreen and a hydroquinone cream. For sure. But you may find that it returns again later after it's diminished. That's all I meant. And it will probably go away altogether after your hormones return to normal. ;-)

OMG-no no no!!! lol-oh i hate u have this problem too but omg i hope it goes away bc i know it may sound silly but every day when i put my make up on it drives me crazy bc i feel like those spots are makeup and i go nuts trying to wash them off SO i use light bronzing powder which btw has 15spf in it and dont use anything else on my face as far as makeup bc of that issue...plus it hides those spots pretty good...anyway thank you VERY much for the help bc i started to think i was crazy with no1 responding or saying they even knew what i was talking about! Again thank u and ill DEFIANTLY look for those creams tomarrow when i go out and pray it helps me the way it has you :-)

Yes it's called Melasma. I have the same thing. After your pregnancy it may or may not go away. I think it's hormonal, though I had it before pregnancy.
So, what to do? Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! And a sun hat. (I love to be outdoors.) Then you need to invest in a hydroquinone gel or cream. Perscription will be stronger, 5% and work faster. However I have found a 3% hydroquinoe cream at the store, called Nadinola. And it's the only I've found that appears to work which you can buy over the counter. You may find it in the hispanic section, as this is more common with Asian, Hispanic and Native American skin types. Apply it every night exfoliating your face (I use baking soda and a little Cetaphil). Use it under your usual creams.
Hydroquinone will make your skin sensitive to light, so again, sunscreen every 4 hours. ( I mix it into my base)
Don't pay a tons of cash for other bleaching creams or products that say it they will take away the sunspots. Melasma is different.
It will take time, with the 3% cream expect to see your skin look more consistent after 8 weeks.
Hope that helps!
