I have a hard time getting my little 3 year old to brush his teeth. Tried everything but he just refuses. On the odd day he will willingly go on his own and brush his teeth. Any ideas/suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you

In my house we make it fun. My 23 month old does not like brushing for Daddy but he will for me. We have two brushes for him. He gets the one of his choosing and I use the other one. He gets to start first and then I say "OK Momma's turn", then I get in there and do half of the bottom, then say 'OK your turn" and make a game out of it. We do it back and forth for a good 3-4mins, so I can get all his teeth, twice. He laughs and gives me more time to get his teeth good. Mean while, he does a pretty good job at them, too. ;)

Perhaps just making it fun, will help.

It's ok for him to be brushing his own teeth, but you need to come along and do it for him afterwards anyway. So... if he's refusing, just do it for him.

You should be brushing his teeth for him at 3, He's not old enough to brush them properly on his own.

Make sure you have a routine, it could be as simple as brushing them after he has finished his bath. You will need to be there with him to make sure he does it properly though.
