I have a friend who has temporary custody of a child who is very bossy and verbally abusive to my child. Everyone seems to want to make excuses for her behavior, but I have had enough. I have tried giving my child some amunition of things to say, " I dont like the way you are talking to me , it hurts my feelings"," Please dont do that that, are you trying to hurt me?" each time results in a nasty comeback from the child. Any suggestions?

They are 9 yrs old

Honestly I would keep them apart, Yes this other boy may have issues but your son isnt one of them and shouldnt be treated like this.

I know that it may be hard, just remember your sons wellbeing is first :) Just tell your friend that you can see her when the boys are doing something else or something.

Good Luck

That is my first thought! The mom and I are good friends and although my daughter is absolutely my first priority, I wish I knew how to do both.

talk to the parent, or just stop going around there and the children interacting until the other child has been sorted out
