Hi this is my first post on Circle of moms. Im having a burning and sore to the touch on top and around my right breast. it started last night out of no where woke up the the pain is worse. My LO is 2 months old mostly formula feed but i still give him breast as well. Sorry for the TMI however I just finished my first menstrual cycle since my section about two days ago. not sure if that may have something to do with it or not. but I truly dont remember having this pain with my first then again I didnt breast feed her. So these symptoms are very new to me. I have tried to pump but not much is coming out and it made my nipples feel like they were on fire. My left breast is ore as well but no burning and soreness is more bearable then my right. Any other momma experienced this. For right now Im just putting a warm rag on my right breast but does not seem to be helping to much.

Sounds like a blocked duct and/or mastitis. If you aren't pumping or nursing very often, they are common and are VERY painful. A blocked duct can lead to mastitis or it can come on its own. Do you have a swollen area or lump on the painful side? If you develop a fever or chills, it is probably mastitis and you may need an antibiotic. If it's just pain, keep on pumping and nursing and using the warm compress or try doing compressions in a hot shower and then pumping. That has worked for me before. It should clear up in a few days. Good luck!
