HI! I have been ex pumping for 7 month old son. He was born at 36 weeks and had some growth restriction so was born 4 lbs 8 oz. He had trouble latching so i used a nipple shield and it seemed to work. He also had slight tongue tie (released now) which made nursing extremely painful even with the nipple shield. We stayed 1 week in the hospt. and used a bottle for feedings because the nurses wanted to track his fluids. Little did I know I could have used a SNS! They weren't very helpful at all! He got sick the first month and I used the bottle for a week so that he didn't burn all his energy nursing and the rest in history!! He pushes away from me when I try to nurse him and cries then I cry! Tried a few things nothing has worked! Any new ideas would be great! I'm on my last leg with pumping everyday all day

You done a great job sticking with pumping this long! Is your child is about to start solids? If it were me, I'd start weaning myself down and switch over to formula for the rest of the year. You aren't able to fully enjoy your son at this point because you are so busy pumping. Give yourself a break and love that baby. Pump twice a day, three at most and don't beat yourself up.
