My 3 year old is fully potty trained (during the day) we still put pullups on him at night, during naps and if we are going in the car. The past week he has started peeing or pooping in the pullup EVERY time it is on. He has even started peeing in his pants sometimes rather then going to the potty. Has anyone else had this problem? What would cause him to lose progress like this. What can I do?

I know! It is wicked frustrating. My son starting pooping his pants MONTHS after he was fully trained. And my daughter who is 2 years 7 months won't even try to start. But i do know that all of this is normal....just really irritating to parents.

Thank you so much! You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that! I was feeling like it was something I was doing wrong or something. I am relieved to hear that most mothers go through that! I am trying to be understanding but it has been so frustrating at times that he was so potty trained and then it seemed like it all went out the window!

Toatlly normal. They usually regress a bit once fully trained. Sometimes it takes a while to get back on track, but it will happen. I don't know why kids do this, but I have not talked to a mother that has not experienced the same thing with at least one of their kids. My son was fully potty trained, then for about 6 months he regressed and got right back on track.
