Thanks Wendy. He was referred to speech by his dr. We had other possible issues that we were worried about. One was autism but as Nick has grown so has his comprehension. He's still not caught up though. JuLeah, yes he does sign but he just signs whatever to get what he wants. For example, he has learned more and all done. So he'll sign all done when he wants to get picked up. It seems to be a comprehension issue more than anything. As for the looks in the park, it's hard to ignore. I was told that my son was too old for a sippy cup. When I said he's only 2 they couldn't get over his height and weight :(

Caqn he sign? That often will bridge the gap. I taught my daughter and was glad I did as she had a hearing loss ... helped her learn to talk

Looks from people in the park? Ignore it

Am i missing something here 2 is still very young.....Give it time You dont need to correct but repete every word that is said wrong....Eg; he says cookie please! and you repete it would you like a cookie? form the words but talk normaly, he will prob repete it or maybe just say cookie but dont make him....just like your confirming what he is saying, no more.......Like i said 2 sounds young to be this worried to me

So ten months now and nothing: Time to switch doctors. That's ridiculous.

He's been in speech therapy for 10 months now. He's also had his hearing tested and the results were normal. We'll be seeing a developmental pediatrician on the 19th of this month. He does talk but just not clearly. It's a language that only mommy understands. I was just wondering if anyone else is going thru this. My two yr old is a big boy, 40 lbs, and I get weird looks at the park when others hear him talk or see his sippy cup :(
