So my son is 8 months. And I want to start giving him regular milk. But every one says to wait till 1 years old. Why is this? And did any of you start your child on milk before they were one?

Like Holly said... they need the nutrients from breast milk or formula for at least a year. Solids are not supposed to replace the calories and nutrients they get from their milk source until that time and regular milk is simply not adequate for their needs. I have heard other reasons such as potentially life long digestive issues and intestinal bleeding as well and, quite frankly, I don't see it as being worth the risk.
