My little guy is formula fed. He has a healthy appetite and loves to eat to fall asleep at night. He may wake up and only want an ounce to head to back to sleep. Is it ok to give him baby water instead of another ounce of food?

He also sweats a lot while asleep is that common?

And because of the sweating,is he dressed in to many layers,or is the temprature in the room to hot.Try use less layers of clothing or open the windows during the day to get some fresh cool air in the room.

I agree with Jodi, then he needs his milk.Dont give water, there is enough water in the milk.

If he wants a little something in his stomach, he is hungry - give him his milk. He does not need water as there is enough in his milk, and in fact, water can be dangerous for him.

I ask because when he does wake up he just wants a little something in his belly he doesn't even consume an entire ounce and because he sweats sooo much I'm worried he's not retaining enough water he's got little dark circles under his eyes

No....no water until at least 6 months old. Your baby gets all the water he needs from his formula. At 2 months old it is normal for them to wake in the middle of the night to eat. Their tummies are small and they need to eat more often for proper brain and development.
