Can I put my 6 week old baby on baby rice? First time mum.

My daughter is 6 weeks old and is breastfed she is usually a very content baby but the last couple of days she won't settle and isn't sleeping well at all I feel she needs more than just my breast milk is it safe to put her on baby rice or is she just having a growth spurt? First time mum...help!!!!

no, at this age all she needs is breastmilk or formula. Her tummy is not developed enough for rice. Also if she is going through a growth spurt and is wanting to feed more then you NEED to breastfeed more as this will increase your supply. Breastmilk is on a supply and demand. If you don't go with the demand the supply will not be there.

She is too young for anything other than breastmilk or formula. Her tummy isn't ready for anything else. What is happening is that she is going through a growth spurt, so she needs to feed more frequently so that she can help you create the milk supply that you will need for when she is bigger. When when is hungry, feed her more breastmilk.
