So what is the issue? My daughter was very underweight for her age as a baby and child protection wasn't even on the radar. Most babies ARE on their own curve. Is his curve showing growth? I think that is the key question.

Depends on the situation. Many doctors are quick to suggest formula. A lot of drs aren't knowledgeable about breastfed babies and their growth. Of course there are times where it is needed but you can give them via SNS. You can seek another opinion or I would HIGHLY suggest seeing an IBCLC.

How old is your baby and what are the weights, starting with the LOWEST (NOT birthweight because babies will lose weight)

Well, yes you can, but you can also expect them to call child protection if you go against their recommendations and your child is not thriving.

We had him admitted to the hospital because they wanted to rule out any disease, everything is fine thank God. For example, there was a week he only gained an ounce. But then again, the same day he was admitted when his weight was checked he was 4 oz more than in the doctors office a couple of hours prior, there is always a margin of error. Still, they were worried...
I'm just not so happy with formula, clearly he isn't either... Now he spits a lot (he's only had a couple during bf exclusively) he has much more gas and doesn't poop like he has always...

I'm seeing consultants at two different hospitals so I can get different opinions, it wasn't until I gave him formula that I was told that there where other options before f... I believe they are using birth weight... I just don't know if going over what doctors say is a good thing to do... With all the power the state has over parents...
my baby will be five months in a couple of,weeks... He's on his own curve
