Can I request a c-section from my doctor because I don't want a vaginal birth?

I'm 10 weeks into my third pregnancy and am terrified of giving birth again. I had 2perfectly normal births but don't want to go through that pain again. Also this will be my last baby and was thinking of having my tubes tied. Can I request a c-section ?

Yes you can, but I think you'd be completely stark raving mad. C-sections are not an easy option, consist of MAJOR abdominal surgery: you'll be unable to pick up anything heavier than your new baby for months. Driving won't be an option. It hurts like hell, the general recovery is a lot harder and the potential complications are worse.

If avoidance of pain is your reason, get a better obstetric doctor, request an effective epidural and cross your fingers that you don't get a bad tear.

You can request anything you want from the doctor, but if you are trying to avoid pain.... c-section recoveries also come with pain.
