For the last 3 weeks my 6 month old has been waking in the middle of the night to eat(normal) but the screams his head off for the next 1-3 hrs. He's scratching his face and head (eczema that what is controlled) and also his neck, he has a rash from all the drool. We have tried it everything to calm him and stop whatever itching and scratching we can. I have no idea what to do. Both my husband and I are exhausted and frustrated. Anyone gave any suggestions

We do baths either every other day or every 2 days and use either the Baby Aveeno oatmeal bath or the Baby Aveeno oatmeal body wash. We tried aquaphor and it didn't work for us. For his body we use eucerine calming cream which works great, but his face we can't seem to find anything that works. I did make my own lotion for him, that seems to be helping but the rash on his neck doesn't want to go away. The doc prescribed a cream to keep a yeast infection from happening, but until his drooling is under control there isn't much we can do. Just seems like everything we try doesn't work and the poor little guy is miserable. Thanks for the help, it is nice knowing we are not alone

Hi Stacy,
My son has eczema and sensitive skin and is 10 months old. My husband and I experienced this same issue around the same time. What types of body wash and lotion are you using for his skin? Also, you may want to control the amount of times you bathe him and when.
Our doctor told us to bathe him every other day and to use Cetaphil lotion. Some doctors also prescribe Aquaphor. They say either or works best. As for his head, try using extra virgin olive oil before you give him a bath. Hope this helps.
