Can you believe this?!?!?!

i wonder how long this router will be around. It is ridiculous to invest in any device to "parent" in place of real parenting!
I can turn the internet off with a flick of a switch for free! I can monitor my kids activity for free! I have taught my kids to be safe online and I don't worry about "accidental" sites. All this router does, can be done for free if you have a few brain cells to use!

I got a reply from them:
Hello! What we believe here at Torch is that parents must be present in their children's lives but sometimes, it's tough. We don't want to replace parents at all. We only wish to make parenting easier! In many cases with our customers, they are more involved in their children's lives with Torch than they ever were before :) Thanks for asking and let us know if you have any other questions!
My Reply to them:
"It's great for my kids I don't have to worry anymore about "accendental sites"
"Every parent should consider getting this router for their children's devices. The ability to turn the Internet off with the touch of a button is great, as is the ability to schedule bedtimes and have them stick."
I've already felt like I've had more control over my kids screen time. I really like that I'm able to control what they are doing and pause it when needed."
I quoted those reviews. None of them say a thing about the parents also still keeping a watch over their kids' shoulders as they use the internet. This makes for lazy parenting because now these parents think that they do not have to actually see what those kids are doing and when. What happens when some kid figures out how to get around this device? Have you thought of that? In the past there were a lot of different software set up for this express purpose and kids figured out how to get around that. What makes you think they won't figure this out?

"The Torch router allows you to eliminate the need to hover over your children while they are online"
“When it comes to your kids and the internet, worry no more, mom and dad. Meet Torch, the child-proof cabinet lock of internet safety. Torch is stylish, smart and will add years to your life…and to your child’s childhood.”
These are two quotes on the website, proclaiming how a router has brought safety and sanity to the home. Now, these parents no longer have to supervise their children! Too bad "torch" can't drive them to school or sports, review homework or feed the kids!
This is ridiculous- to believe a router is a guarantee of internet safety? There is no replacement for a parents vigilance. How long before a tech savvy child figures out how to disable this router?

After they gave us software to keep kids out of certain places online on a computer, gave us parental controls for phones, computers and tablets, gave us GPS to keep track of kids....now they got a machine that does all that too just about?!?!?
Forget parenting your kids....let something doe that for you.
