What are the car seat laws in YOUR area? Laws differ across counties, states, countries, and continents. Any information you gain here should be immediately confirmed with an authority in YOUR immediate location.
A good place to find out the car seat laws in your area is your local firehouse. Often times they will also check seat installation, and can be able to provide the proper replacement if yours is worn, out of date, or your kid has grown out of it.
Generally, the law in my area states that ALL children under the age of 5 need to be in a front facing car seat, unless the child is 80lbs and a certain height, and that ALL children under the age of 8 need to be in boosters, and that NO children under the age of 10 ride in the front of a vehicle with a passenger side airbag. Check with local law enforcement for the pertinent laws in your area
