My dr wants to induce me at 38 weeks because of medical reasons. I've been trying everything to do it naturally before the date an nothing is happening!! The one thing I haven't tried is castor oil, it's sitting on my counter just staring me down. Does this work? If anyone has done it how much did you take and what did you mix it with?

NO!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!! If you are not ready to delivery naturally anyway, all it will do is trigger your stomach and bowel muscles and potentially distress the baby.

I was induced with my 2nd at 41 weeks and it was the quickest and easiest labor out of the 3.
Your baby will come when it's ready or when the doctor induces you but don't be scared of the induction.

YOu aren't ready, because your labor hasn't come to fruition yet.

You can be dilated for weeks. Baby can be low and effaced for weeks. Until your body and your baby are absolutely ready, you'll have false labor and not much else. Your doctor has determined 38 weeks to be the safest for both you and baby, so you need to wait for the doctor's date.

I guess I've heard this... But how do you know you aren't ready? My dr said baby was low and engaged. I have been dilated to 1 for a week now and last night I was up all night with contractions that radiated from my lower back, wrapped around to the front, and went down my legs. I was certain I was in labor but then right before 2 hours the started to get less and less. I was bummed!!
