I have heard bad things about explosive diareaha on the deliveray table I mean you always know it can happen but I would just die of course lots of women have a bout of tummy trouble right before they go into labor so who knows I never tried it and I was 14 days past due so I considered it instead i just walked alot had some alone time with my hubby if you know what I mean which was great and romantic bonding time before you have other stuff going on in your life that will take pressidence over sex for awhile plus my doctor said that nipple sitmulation helps bring on contractions so try natual things first your body will resond soon enough and trust me when you start in labor you just kind of wish you had some more time it seems like it was way to fast . plus my friend swears by rasberry tea as a way to induce labor dont know much about why so you might want to goggle it but they sell it for that reason in health stores

It only works if your body is ready! that doesn't mean YOUR ready but your body... lol....The way it works is it causes smooth muscle contraction in our intestins and your uterus being a smooth muscle also.. it sometimes causes "sympothy contractions" if your already about to go into labor the contractions will continue..... and yes it DOES cause you to poop but the amount and the durration is different with everyone.... and it CAN cause problems for the baby.... if your body reacts violently to the castor oil and you start contracting TOO hard it could deplete the amount of oxygen the baby gets it could slow baby's heart rate and yes it can cause a BM in utero.... most doctors don't sugest it anymore..... as for me... I tried it with my last two..... it brought on contractions within a few hours the first time around... and baby was here that night..... and then it did nothing but give me an upset stomach the next time..... so.. like I said in the begining .... it all depends if you are about to go into labor already anyway...

I used it with OJ and three hours later I was in labor. I had diareah for about two hours and it was over. Then I didn't have to get a enema at the hospital. But, I have never heard of the baby having any issues though like stated with another post. It is always worth checking it out for that reason alone before you try it. Full moon days are better though. Some thing about the gravity fields helps... CHECK IT OUT for the sake of the baby!

DO NOT DO IT!! I did with my second & it was a huge mistake. NOTHING can send you into labor if your body is NOT already ready. BTW, I had my daughter a week after I did the casot oil. Spent the entire day I took it in the bathroom!!

LOL dont do it!! Its HORRIBLE! I know your anxious and wanting to do every thing possible to get that thing out of you, but TRUST ME it aint worth it. If you have dropped and you are super close to delivering any way. This may work, but more than likely you will be like me in the hospital with mild contractions and terrible diareah! Its not fun, it tates awful, and more importantly it can cause your baby to have a BM and digest maconium which makes them very ill, and can even kill them. Honey its not worth the risk. Be patient. Do healthier things like walking. he/she will be here when its GODS time. I did it with my daughter and she was still a week late and i had to be induced.

The way castor oil works to induce labor is by causing severe abdominal cramping due to diarrhea - the cramping sometimes triggers labor because it mimics contractions somewhat. It isn't recommended to use it because if it does bring on labor there is a risk that the contractions will be too heavy too quickly and can harm both you and the baby. I would definitely talk to your doctor/midwife before you even consider trying it.

I didn't do it but my friend did and all she did was crap for two days. I think if the baby is ready they will come. I have read that nipple stimulation can help induce because it causes a hormone release that softens the cervix? idk
