You are just rude!!! I hope your baby is healthy as people like you who do silly things like that which could potentially cause harm to your baby need there heads read! I think you need to go back to kindergarten and start again and learn to respect people that give you advice rather than come out with your rude comments!

I hope your baby comes out happy and healthy. I recommend NEVER to use castor oil again though whether it didn't work this time or if you have another baby again. That could end up killing your baby.
Castor oil and its derivatives are used in the manufacturing of soaps, lubricants, hydraulic and brake fluids, paints, dyes, coatings, inks, cold resistant plastics, waxes and polishes, nylon, pharmaceuticals and perfumes.
Sooooo yeah definitely not safe.
And lets pray you don't diarrhea all over the place lol.
Let nature take its course, your baby wasn't ready to come out and you've already went 40 weeks so whats another week? They'll only let you go like 10 days past your due date anyway.

There really isn't any point is getting nasty with other people here Tiara. You are the one that asked for honest answers and then got nasty when people gave them to you.
No one said that it would harm your baby but it could. I hope you let the other Mother know the risks before giving her the castor oil.
BTW: Even on smart phones you can override the auto correct and it will store that word for you.

Hopefully this child with prosper. I'm wondering, though, with a parent like this...

It's CASTOR. Not castro. Good grief. And, with that little understanding of human physiology, you got damn lucky kid, that you didn't cause complications.

Oh, and you need to learn how to develop patience, because it's required in raising children, and so far, you're not exhibiting any. You are, however exhibiting an excellent example of a bitchy teenager that thinks they know it all...good luck sweetie, cuz you're gonna need it!

As I said, I hope your baby does not go into distress. This leads to unnecessary c-sections. Good luck for your baby.

No I would not take it, I would not take anything unless stated that it's safe to take to induce labour and nothing is safe unless a doctor recommends it, a baby will arrive when it's ready.

Actually, Tiara, you can't delete other people's posts. Nobody here was rude to you, they answered you honestly. You were the only one being rude.

What a fun labour you will have if the castor oil works. You'll be not only not able to control your pain, but also not able to control your poop. I don't know about you, but that's not the labour I would choose. Not only that, but there is the possibility of your baby going into distress. Do you want to risk the health of your baby just because you don't want to wait any more?

I have had 3 so I do understand. My 1st was 10 days overdue and my 2nd was 7 days so I know what it's like.
The best things to do is get walking. Keep moving and let gravity work for you. Also squatting helps get baby to push on your cervix and go into labor.
No need to duh people though. We know how frustrating it is at the end but it's not good for your baby to rush them out when they aren't ready.
You asked for honest answers and you got it.

Michelle - posted on 02/15/2014

It's not recommended to take castor oil as it can distress the baby. You will go into labor when your baby is ready, why try and rush it?

Andrea - posted on 02/15/2014

The most the Castro oil will do is give the poops... Which I heard can cause you to go in to labor IF your body has already started to prepare for it.. I.E. thinning out, dilating at all... I am sorry but When a friend of mine tried this she just got very sick and it still took another week for them to induce her... Best wishes and take care...
