I'm going with the other ladies.

No LICENSED physician would do this.

Sounds fishy to me. Usually things that sound too far fetched are just that. Next time make the story more believable if you don't want to be caught.

I'm sorry but I know women that have had C-Sections and have had drains in for at least a day or 2 after. They also have staples that get removed about 3 days later.
Yes they do try and get you up as soon as possible but usually after 12 or so hours, not straight away.
Usually an elective C-Section they use an epidural, not a general, so you wouldn't have "woken up" straight away, you would have been numb from the waist down until the epidural wore off.
Yes you can discharge yourself against medical advice anytime you are in hospital but the hospital lets you know that if there are any problems, they aren't responsible.

I didnt post this question to be called a liar and have negativity just wanted some positive before my c. Im to old for this childish stuff. Sorry if you don't believe me. If you have another c I would ask about it. I had anastesia, woke up right away, walked right away and was fine after 6 hours. It was an elective, maybe that's different then an emeg....but I also only live a mile away from the hospital. Also I have to bring the baby back in an hour for his shot or whatever. Legally even if they wanna keep me their they cant anyway so it wouldn't have even mattered if I was discharged or not I would have left.

And I say you are full of shit. Or you have a dodgy doctor, because no decent doctor would have let you out in less than 12 hours.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Had my operation yesterday at 8am and checked out at 7:20. Had a healthy baby boy and everything is going great! I dunno why everyone told me this was so bad because I feel amazing!!

Seriously, no licensed physician will sign you out 12 hours after major surgery.

And, NO, a caesarean is NOT 'so easy you're cheating'. It takes major recovery time, and reduced physical activity. Oh, exactly what you're going to have with a NEWBORN...NOT!

It's an extremely harsh physical procedure, even when planned. They are basically violating every muscle in your abdominal area in order to reach your womb to remove the child. That's not exactly a walk in the park. Granted, neither is physical labour, but the recovery time is usually much less, and the recovery itself less demanding.

I agree with Jodi. No doctor....or at least good one is going to allow you to leave after 12 hours with a csec. Even in Michigan. There are too many things that could go wrong that they could be liable for.

They aren't going to let you leave 12 hours after major abdominal surgery with your baby. I know this isn't the positive feedback you want, but I'm curious as to what doctor you are talking to that is considering this as an option. I'd be VERY wary about this.
