So I want to change my sons last name to mine he has his fathers last name we are not married he don't do anything for my son I have to take him to see his father and he barely even see's him when he is walking distances or 5minutes away

I agree with the other ladies. It does not change his parentage to change his name. It is a legal process and one that may include the father's agreeing to the name change depending on the place you live and the laws there.

Changing his name won't change his DNA.
Like Shawnn said, you need to go to the courts to change a name.
You should also have been to court to sort out custody, visitation and child support.

It is a legal process. Start with your clerk of court, file a legal petition, a judge will rule.

Or...you could do the right thing by your child, file for custody,support, and visitation, and get used to the fact that he has a father, and he has the right to know his father.
