Child being tested for gifted program

My son, who is in the fourth grade, is being tested for the gifted program at our public school. He has made it through the first 5 steps, and now has to take an IQ test to
qualify. I was wondering if anyone recommended doing pretesting at home before he
took the actual test (we won't know the actual date, just within the next week). I have asked him to be tested before, but they always said his report card grades weren't high enough, even though his teachers thought he would do excellent since he was in the 1st grade. I've tried to find out what actual IQ test MO uses, but even that info
is hard to find. I guess I just feel helpless, he has gotten so far and I just want the best for him and his academics.
