I have a two year old an me and my boyfriend have joint custody. My little boy is being abused over there. He came home with bruises, a busted lip, and even a black eye. He keeps him out till three or later in the morning. He has drugs and dealers in an out of his house. I live in lousisana and I'm needed anyone that know a reasonable option I have. It would cost me 2,500 to get emergency custody and I only have 1500. I'm am in fear for my child's life and I want to keep him and not send him back but I don't know what kind of trouble I could be in. Any help would be appreciated!

You should also be taking your child to the doctor if he comes back like that. A doctor has to report cases of abuse and they will document the injuries.

Also call the child protective services and report the dad. They can investigate and see what is going on and help you to gain custody of your child as well as what Liz put.

My husbands brother just got his son a couple months ago when the mom went to jail, she basically has custody since he is not on the birth certificate. When they got him he had bite marks worst diaper rash I've ever seen and was extremely neglected come to find out people already reported her to dcfs and we had a lady stop by to check on him she just told us that if the mom comes to get him that she can keep him since they don't have custody set and he's not on the birth certificate so we just need to make sure she can't get him. You need to go to a lawyer for custody go to child protective services and the police and report and keep track of everything.

That's why it is important to document abuse with evidence, so it is not just a case of your word against his.

I have a case with OCS as of January and they really aren't much help. I've contacted the court house and a lawer and they all told me if I keep the kid I could be in trouble.

Yes call CPS, cops and a lawyer. I'm sure you will get full custody of your'e child. Good luck!!! Oh I would keep him and not give him back to his father.

You need to speak to a lawyer and get this sorted asap. Good luck.

If you cannot afford a lawyer, next time this happens (or if the bruises are still evident, do it now), call the cops and file a criminal complaint.
