What happens at child support hearing in NC. My childs father is supposed to attend a hearing soon in NC, where he lives. I don't live in NC but another state. He didn't sign the BC or a paternity acknowledgement form. Just wanted to know what can be expected from the hearing. He has not given 1 copper penny since the birth of our daughter and has failed to provide any type of support financially or medically. Just wanted some input from those that have gone through this process. BTW, he is national guard military if that helps.

A 9-5 M-F Job like most people working 1 weekend out of the month when you have two children and a masters degree and is enlisted instead of an officer really doesn't make much sense to me.

Thanks, but unfortunately that dude doesn't even have a job and hasn't held one consistently within the past 4 years. I will see how this goes.

I don't know about NC specifically. However they might request a DNA test. And once proven he's the father, they can garnish his wages for child support. Keep in mind once proven he also utilize his parental rights for visitations and the like, and you two may need to set up a parenting plan with the state.
