Is there any way to collect child support and not give the other parent any type of visitation rights? The "father" is unfit and admitted himself into mental health facilities at least 10 times before my son was born. Not to mention he choked me when I was 3 months pregnant. I ended up having to get a restraing order on him. I want him to have nothing to do with my son, but im a single mother who is struggling.

Not unless you have solid proof, not allegations of abuse.

Contact a family attorney.

You really need to get in touch with a great family lawyer. He still may get supervised visitations though. If he is still bothering you, by all means get a restraining order. That will be documentation for your case. Good luck.
