My 10yrs. boy and 8 yrs. old daughter share a bed. Do you think this is appropriate?

I agree, for now as long as the have enough space and are getting adequate rest, no big deal. As puberty approaches, they will need separate sleeping spaces.

Given that the children are headed towards puberty, it is probably appropriate for them to be getting separate beds.

Dove is right, even if this last into there tween years it is not a big deal. I do think at some point they will desire privacy and their own space for sleep. Just give it some time. Families that are large often have no choice but to house kids together. Don't sweat it.

Have you tried having two beds in the same room? If they want to be together in the same room that is totally fine, but they should each have their own sleeping space. If you only have one bed in each room and they want to share... of course they are going to end up in the same bed.

There is NOTHING wrong w/ siblings of either gender and any age sharing a room if that is their choice, but it is good to encourage them to have their own sleeping space.

I agree it is inappropriate but we have tried everything to get them to separate. repainting their room letting them pick out what types of décor they wanted offering them cool stuff i.e lava lamps, cool night lighit..... and they love their rooms, they just wouldn't sleep there!!! I am getting very fruatrated. Any ideas?
