They are ages 1, 5 and almost 7. My 5 and 7 year old get about 2 to 3 hours total. When I do it right, the screen time starts and then it stops two hours later. I have found this really teaches them to budget their time and prioritize. They learn what they really like to do and they make up their own minds. It is also great for teaching time and time passing. When school started, I made it Fridays because I teach them at home and not having screens until Friday just took that headache out of the equation. Not to mention the fact so much tv and computer time is not beneficial to their learning, whatsoever. :)

I do use computers and my smart phone apps for school time, though. The educational stuff that I do with them during the week doesn't count toward their screen time.

Hi! here is one of my blog posts about chore charts you may find helpful.

As for computer time, we have screen time in my house on Fridays. I lump everything in together..if it has a screen, it counts as TV time and such. Whether it is the Wii, leapster, smart phone, computer, Netflix or just plain old tv! I use an egg timer or the kitchen timer, too. Set the timer and they can learn to get off of it when the timer goes off. Depends on the ages, of course ! hope this helps some.
