circumcise my son

The only medical reason to do it is penile cancer is very rare amongst circumcised males that were circumcised during childhood. To me that would not be a deciding factor. This is a very controversial topic so you will get many varied opinions. My husband is Jewish and while my children are Catholic, it was important to him to have our boys circumcised. I did not feel strongly one way or the other at the time, so I complied with his desire. We did not have a ritual, just the doctor at the hospital.
My father was born at home and was not circumcised, my mother was not a proponent but I don't have brothers, so I don't know what she would have done.
How does your partner feel? If you do choose to have your son circumcised, request the hospital use an anesthetic cream before the procedure. My first son cried very hard and I felt awful, I insisted on the anesthetic cream (Emla cream) for my second and I watched the nurse put it on and he hardly cried and all. This was 13 years ago for my second. After, you want to keep it very gooped up with Vaseline and gauze but it heals very quickly. Two or three days and it was all history.
This is a personal decision and there is no right or wrong answer.
