We had a sick baby today in the car (major gross icky stinky mess in my new car! grrrr). I want to do more than just surface scrub the straps. Is it ok to take those off the car seat and throw it in the wash with the rest of the cover?? I'm sure there's enough car seat regulators out there that can help a mommy out. I want to make sure I'm staying compliant ;).

I take my whole seat apart and wash it on a regular basis, I thoroughly bleach out the plastic seat as well.

Courtney, I've done it, and I've never seen where it could void the warranty...

alternatively a good scrub with upholstery cleaner might work

It kinda depends on your car seat, but I've taken the cover and straps off, thrown them in the wash, and hosed down the plastic base (infant bucket style and 2 year old car seats)
