My daughter has not had sex yet and will be attending a large university beginning this June. Would it be a good idea to get her on the pill just in case to protect her?

I think it's a good idea. I went on the pill before I had sex because I had been dating my boyfriend at the time for a while. My mom sat me down and we talked and I'm glad I was on it as a precaution.

Oh yes we have discussed no sex unless two forms of protection (also condoms to protect against STD's). She has morals I just want others opinions if necesaary. She is still 17 so she needs me to obtain them now.

I think you need to let her decide what she wants to do. If she is 18 years old, then she needs to be the one to decide her health and wellness. What you should do is to sit down with her and let her know your worries or concerns, talk about the idea of the possible chance of having sex and protecting herself against pregnancy but also STD's, and what this life changing act can do for her. You can not just protect against pregnancy---there are so many diseases out there that can be picked up when having sex and the pill does not protect for that.
