He is up sometimes 10 times a night (and I'm not joking!) TRIED everything... controlled crying for a solid 2 weeks but no let up at all from him.... pick up put down tech.... tried and failed... co-sleeping.... couldn't cope with... Tried the feeding up before bedtime... no difference.. tried feeding up thoughout the day... no difference.... Now thinking he was 'afraid' of the cot situ we have now converted cot to bed...? good idea...? who knows..? any advice?

Katherine I got the shock of my life after two children who slept 8 hours a night at 2 months and 12 hours EVERY night by 6 months unless they were unwell or teething and in one case growing. My daughter has massive growth spurts which means she goes to bed at 8 and wakes up around 12 absolutely starving, eats goes back to bed :)

OMG Lissa my older daughter didn't start sleeping through the night until she was 5 either and my 2yo still doesn't.

My youngest woke up 7-10 times a night screaming for the first year, the screaming stopped but the waking continued, by the time he was three it was down to 2-3 times and to be honest it wasn't until he turned 5 that waking through the night stopped (mostly).
As katherine said speak to the Doctor just in case there is something behind it. I have to say (I don't think you want to hear this) after trying every technique possible I just let him sleep with me. Eventually he stopped co-sleeping worked for me it was better than everyone in the house being wakened multiple times a night by a crying tot. He was more relaxed and rested and so where the rest of the family.

My 11 mo NEVER slept throgh the night. Actually both of my girls didn't. The only way they would was co-sleeping.
Have you spoken to his doctor about it?

When you say you're doing controlled crying, exactly how do you do this and time it?
