Hello,

I am fairly new to this and I've spent weeks in front of the computer seeking answers and guidance. My boyfriend is Army (31k) E3 will be E4 when he graduates this Friday. He has PCS orders for Ansbach, Germany with a report date of July 2nd. We have discussed getting married as he wants me and my daughter to go with him. My daughter is 6 years old and is diagnosed with ADHD: Combined; Auditory Processing Disorder and Mood disorder NOS. She sees a psychiatrist once every 3 months and Occupational therapists once a week and has an IEP. I've done a lot of research and it seems as if Ansbach, Germany has all the programs and support as she receives here in the states. I know the army is very unpredictable but I was wondering if you could give me any advice, guidance on steps to take.

Thank you!

Then you are one of a few that actually took the time to do this. I am glad that you did.

We already have a date set for that with the courts. I know I have to have courts written approval to go with him and be enrolled in EFMP.

Okay. I get the wanting to know about the services for kids and if anyone else has done this before. Is dad going to fight on this move because of visitation? You should double check with your area on the legalities of moving before you do it. Dad could fight it over the visitation if he is involved with her. I know a lot of mom's that want to move with the new hubby to a different state and dad has said no and it had to go to court to be approved and a new visitation set up.

I have full physical and legal custody of my daughter. I guess mainly I was asking to see if anyone has been approved to go to Ansbach Germany with a child with ADHD and what services they used.

If you have found that they have similar programs where your boyfriend is stationed, then I do not know what you are needing in way of advice. Your boyfriend will have paperwork to fill out on you and your daughter once you are married anyhow for health care etc. What I am wondering is where the father is and what he thinks about this move out of the country? What if any court orders on support, visitation and custody to you have for your child?
