Concerns about clinic waiting room spreading bacteria

I'm a grandmother of a 10 month old little one with CF. He is doing well but we are very concerned after reading a 2006 article saying one of the greatest dangers lies in the waiting room at the CF clinic. We keep our CF kids away from one another, yet we bring them to sit in a waiting room together. He is too young to wear a mask, he will pull it off. It's hard for me to believe that this issue has not been addressed in CF Clinics around the country. TB clinics have heavy duty air cleaners. Thoughts?

Thank you, Melody:) I love the idea of bringing two people. I told my daughter to have the receptionist call her in the car when it's time, but bringing two people solves the paperwork issue. Thank you for your kindness!

I would take 2 adults. Once can stay in the car with him until they are called on the cell phone to come in. The other one can go inside...register...and wait. Then when the nurse calls you back..contact the person in the "cooled" car. Never leave the child alone or in a hot car. They must be a responsible adult and in a car that is a healthy temperature.
Let the clinic know how strong you feel about this. Get their corporate office and call them. Trust me I have changed a lot of things this way.....commercials, store management, new street lights......voices are heard..."squeaky wheels gets the grease"
Best of luck. Friend me on Facebook Melody Foster Robbins
