I'm currently six weeks pregnant,I went to the doctor a week ago,he did a sonar and gave me some supplements. Now I'm very confused,I'm experiencing my periods as normal but they came late, just like what happened last month.is it normal to have periods while pregnant, or there is something wrong?

i found another pregnant mom who doesn't know everything already! i feel like there are so many experts here i am starting to feel stupid. i am due actually nov 16, was nov 1 but my dates were off and now i found out on thursday that i have twins. so my doctor says sometime in october is the target. i have had two miscarriages so i know how scary it is when you feel that drip, drip, i have cried enough to fill a swimming pool. this is our third try and it looks like it is going good. do you have any other kids yet? these are it for me and derek so far. how old are you? derek is 30 and i just turned 27. we have been married for almost six years.

I see, folic acid is important to the growing fetus. All you can do is wait at this point. If you really bleed heavily or pas clots, then you need to go to the ER or at least all your doctor. I hope all is well. Some light bleeding around the time you'd expected your period is not unusual. Good Luck!

Thank you so much for your response. They gave me folic acids,I was advised to do the ultrasound, since there was a confusion again on the pregnancy tests, where some will come positive and some will be negative. So the one who advised me said that if I do sonar ,it will pick it that I'm not pregnant. And the doctor said it's very early as you are saying .

Don't know. Some women have periods during pregnancy, especially early on is not that unusual. If you start to bleed heavily contact your doctor. When you say supplement, what were you given? Also, if you are six weeks, and saw the doctor a week ago, you'd have been very, very early. Five weeks is really early to do a ultrasound. Most women don't even get seen for the first visit until 8-10 weeks. So why were you there so early?
