hi everyone, im a little confused about how far along i am? my doctors say i would be about 22 weeks right now. but every calculator thing i do says im 24 weks. my LMP was march 17, so im guessing i conceived on the 30th? which to the computers stuff im 24 weeks. they gave me a due date of jan 5th but i will b having a c-section probably dec 30th or 31st. im thinking maybe i didnt conceive march 30th. but i did get a positive test april 15th and i took 9 within 4 days. the first 2 i took came out positive and i went to the doctor to take one but it came out neg. so they gave me a blood test. i had to wait 3 days for it. during those 3 days i took 5 more test including 2 dollar store ones and they all came back +. if anyone can help me out here id appreciate it

Have you had an ultrasound? Often the will use those to date the baby. So if you have had an ultrasound, the indicators may have shown that the fetus is 2 weeks younger than initially thought.

You know yourself better than anyone else. I was always very regular, every 28 days and knew my LMP with my 3rd baby just as I did with my other two. My doctor doesn't do an ultrasound until about 12wks and at that ultrasound they moved my due date up almost 2wks. It made no sense to me, 40wks is 40wks, right?! My two previous babies came 5 days early and this baby measured large the whole time until he came 6 days early! I asked the midwife with my second baby which due date to go by (friends has told me to go by sono), the LMP or ultrasound. She said that if you know your LMP 100%, without a doubt to go by that and that as long as the ultrasound was within 3 days of that date, you would still go by LMP. Of course, if you didn't know your LMP then you would go by the ultrasound date.

Cheyenne, the earlier the ultrasound, the more accurate it is. it is because of the developmental milestones of a fetus being so defined on a week by week basis. Later ultrasounds are more likely to be wrong, but it is unlikely that a 6 and then and 8 week ultrasound is incorrect.

Just remember that those online due date calendars are based on a regular 28 day cycle, and are assuming EVERY woman on a 28 day cycle ovulates at the same time. If you don't have a 28 day cycle, and don't ovulate until very late in your cycle, then your calculations will be out and your ultrasounds are reflecting the true picture.

My LMP and the ultrasound didn't match up. My doc went by the LMP. With both children, I went into labor naturally at 39w6d. He was right to go by my cycles.

just go by whatever the ultrasound said. with my daughter i knew what day my period was on (but not everyone ovulates at teh same time so this can affect ur due date) so i though i would be due nov 7 but after my ultrasound my doctor moved my due date to nov 19 which didnt make any sense to me lol my daughter ended up being born nov 15

Okay based on your LMP yes you are 24 wks and would have a due date of Dec. 22nd.

You really better check with your doctors because if you have to have a c-section that could be really bad if it isn't scheduled till a full week after your due.
