constipated baby

hello to everyone am a first time poster an mom... i have a 9 month old baby boy an from about 4 months of his life he had have problems with 'pooin' he was breast feed for the first 3 months of his life then i introduced formula to him (infamil new borns) he wasn taking that very well so i then switched to (gerber protect) then he started to get constipated after visitin the doctor he told me to go back to breast feeding only. I did until he reached six months where i then started introducing pureed fruits an vegetables an then the problems came back... an has continued on to now. i've also reintroduced formula to his diet ( infamil premi) an it take four days for him to pass 'poo's' an most of the time i have to use a suppository.. i am really conserned on using it everytime he needs to poo because i dont want him to depend on them to poo... please an in dier need of help.... HELP!!!

Reduce his solid and formula feedings, go back to mainly breast milk. Food before one is just for fun. Sounds like he's too young to handle anything other than breast milk as of now.
