Your options are limited at such an early age:

1. karo syrup (DON'T worry about the "botulism risk" - according to Dr Greene and several other sites that's a thing of the past)
2. diluted pear or prune juice (there are a few juices you can give before six months old - these are the laxative ones)
3. Baby-size glycerine suppositories (the 1 gram ones) - side-effect free, and guaranteed to make him do a dooh in 20 mins or less!

Exclusively breastfed babies do not get constipated. Now, if you are supplementing or giving him a vitamin with iron, he might get constipated. At 12 weeks you need to ask the pediatrician. Especially if he is only eating breastmilk, because what you are seeing may be a different problem than constipation.
