My son suffered with seizures at the age of one month old. He spent a month in Children's Hospital. He was placed on vigabitrin for 1 year. He was seizure free for 16 years, no meds. At 17 he had a grand mal, and has suffered with seizures ever since. He has been on 8 different meds, they work for a few months and seizures return, up 7 per day. He has now been diagnosed with cortical dysplasia. Neurologist wants to put him on Vimpat, he tells us that it has less then 1% chance of actually improving his seizures. This med has terrible side effects from what I have read. He has a really tough time with med changes. If anyone has any thoughts on this I would love to hear from you.
