Could I be pregnant again?

I am still breastfeeding my 15 month old son, he gets one boob in the morning and the other before bed. I had two light periods and then two normal periods all 5 weeks apart which was my normal prebaby cycle. Now its been 7 and a half weeks since I had one.
The last three days I have had feelings of nausea and am so incredibly tired and had a few moments a bit headachy or woosy. I've been told unless I have sensitive nipples Im most likely not pregnant but I never had that with the last pregnancy.
Should I spend the money on a pregnancy test or just wait it out some more

That is so not true about sensitive nipples. I had sensitive nipples so I thought I was not pregnant and I was. I would do to test for peace of mind

whats the news are you expecting ?

Hubby is getting a test at lunch for me to do in the morning.

Given how horribly nauseous I feel right now I hope that I am! :)

Hi guys. I'm going to go get another test this week or maybe even go for bloods. Mum has told me she was 2 and a half months pregnant before a test would go positive for the sister after me. So we will see. The quesy has continued (and this morning been the worst) and now Im getting random soreness in the breasts too. So seeing a dr might be a good thing regardless.

Oh and just to clarify I know the breastfeeding isn't a good contraceptive and we never treated it as such. :)

So maybe tomorrow or the next day I might head to the doctors :D

i had no symptoms... no sore nipples no weight gain... no extra appetite no tiredness no nothing of the nature and i was twelve weeks pregnant .... i found out at a pap exam and i was so in shock i had just had a period...the doctor told me yu can still have a period while pregnant only in the first two months so get tested for sure

i would def. get a test, but i wouldn't be too concerned one way or the other. i was exclusively breastfeeding my 3 month old son, and hubby and i had unprotected sex...well, needless to say, my son is now almost 7 months and im 3 days shy of 4 months preggo, after 4 negative preg. tests too! and i have yet to have a positive one, and my doc. didnt send me for a blood test like she said she was gonna (did bloodwork, but didnt do the preg test) so to date i have absolutely no positive results...however, i am starting to show and can feel babe moving and kicking inside of me!!! so follow your heart, mines been telling me all along that im preggo, but i tried to ignore it...thankfully i was (and am) still taking my prenatals bc of bf!!!

I would say go ahead and get a test. With my last two boys, I was still nursing the previous one when I got pregnant with the next. On one occassion, I didn't even have a period before finding out I was pregnant. Good Luck!

I agree with the others - buy a test and get your answer. I've not heard the nipple thing before and didnt have that problem during pregnancy so I wouldnt put too much faith in it. I guess from my experience if I had nausea I would be straight out to pee on a stick!!

I'm in the same boat with Chantelle. My doctor told me "not to worry", "it's normal", ect,ect... Long story short Little Chaun is 7months, I'm 5months 3weeks! TAKE THE TEST!!!! LOL I'm just saying...I found out AFTER the first trimester was well over. I'm diabetic, and brestfeeding. There are things I would have been doing if I'd known sooner.

buy the test I am figuring you are probably pregnant, breast feeding does not stop you from getting pregnant so if you weren't on the pill or using other birth control measures you probably have another bun in the oven hope the news is good news whichever way it turns out

Yes go by a test, you may be pregnant. You do not have to have sensitive nipples to be pregnant. Good luck

Of course you could be pregnant, breastfeeding is by no means a contraceptive and the fact that your son is only having two (half) feeds should make you even more aware of using protection! You don't have to have sensitive nipples and since you didn't with your last pregnancy, it's more likely you won't with your next either. Are your feelings of nausea and tiredness similar to back when you were pregnant last time??

Also, it could take a little time for your body to get back to normal with your periods, it's been through alot in the last couple of years.

It doesn't matter either way if you buy a test or not, if you think you're pregnant then you probably are, after all, you know what it feels like to be pregnant. Either way, good luck with it, that will be a nice age gap if you are in fact pregnant now.

I got pregnant while I was breastfeeding my 10 month olds son (who by the way was an invitro baby)....now I have a 3 month old beautiful little girl! (they are 18 mos. apart) It is hectic but absolutely wonderful! Good luck either way!

[deleted account]

Hello, you definatly could be, BF is only an effective contraception while you are exclusively BF, once you start weaning or introducing formula you could become pregnant. I think you should do a test to know for sure. Good Luck, hope you get the answer you want...

I would talk with your doctor first their maybe something else wrong if your breastfeed it is a 60% chance yournot pregnant let your doctor run some tests.

unless you're on birthcontrol, there's no reason for you NOT to be pregnant. It's an old-wives tale that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding. Go get a test!

my daughter is almost 4 months old and i just sent my hubby out for tests! we were being very protected and careful! though some might think Im crazy, I am actually kind of excited at the possibility of being pregnant! Just had some spotting about a week ago, didnt think anything of it, loving just might have been too rough, but last night and this morning I've been so neausous! Either way, pregnant or not I'll be happy! I'm sure everything will be fine for you! Just think it could have happend ALOT sooner then expected!

Buy a test and go to the doctor. I tested negative for two whole months with my second. My first was a year when I got pregnant and I had only had my period 3 times randomly as I was breastfeeding.

[deleted account]

yes funny how that works isn't it,you get use to the thought that you may be pregnant and when your not its a bit disapointing...I wish you all the best..:-)

and i'll be kinda hoping it is positive. I got quite excited at the thought, its a few months earlier than we were planning but if it happens we'll both be over the moon

Thanks for the help :)

[deleted account]

oh my goodness you are a very patient person,I would have a lest already if it was me,i am so impatient....If you want to put your mind at ease buy a test and if it shows negative buy another one in a few weeks in case its 2 soon...You can fall pregnant whilst breat feeding if you have had no other measures of contriception....I wish you all the best and if you are pregnant i hope it is what you want..:-)

buy a test. i got pregnant with my 2nd while still breast feeding, and you dont HAVE to have sensitive nipples to be pregnant, that would be like saying you have to have every pregnancy symptom in order to be pregnant and we all know thats not true. good luck :)
