Could I be pregnant again?

I stopped breastfeeding my baby (7 month old son) about 3 months ago. My period hasn't returned. Could I be pregnant? I was on the mini pill while breastfeeding, now back on a combination pill. Should the birth control pills keep my period from returning? I know you can ovulate before your first period returns. How long should I wait before I take a pregnancy test? Or should I call a doctor and ask about how long it could be before getting my period back?

So, if you haven't done a test, how are women on the internet going to be a better source of information? Honestly, if you are having sex you could be pregnant. Birth control or not. You stopped breastfeeding 3 months ago. Common sense says that you could be ovulating. Do a test!!!

I haven't bought a test yet because I thought my period might not have returned yet because of the birth control.
