Could it be teething or a cold?

Hey ladies, hope you are all good. My 6 month old daughter has been coughing, has a runny nose and now has a slight nappy rash for the past four days. I took her to the Doctor but it seems like the cough mixture is not helping her and now I am stressed and even lost weight because I don't eat properly. Could it all just be teething?

I know how you feel just last month my son was coughing,i got him a cough sirup at the pharmacy..the next morning a rash started on his face and then covered about 80% of his body..and i could watch the rash appear on a part of his body and then go away and come again. You can imagine how frightend i was.. went to the doc and turned out to be Urticaria. He was allergic to that cough sirup. We got drops to give him and the rash dissapeard...and we got a different cough sirup:-) My son is also my first.

Get a cream for colds that you can rub on your babys chest, back and feet.By us the cream is called Pulmex for babies its much milder than vicks. My son once had a bad cough that went on for a couple of days and he needed antibiotic.Maybe you could go back to the doctor. And dont stress to much :-) good luck and hope baby feels better soon. Ps you could also give her a bath with a special for babies cold bathgel.

Actually id have to disagree. Some symptoms of a cold could be related to teething. My son would get fevers and cough a lot when he was teethingg. But if you have any doubts get a second opinion. When he is sick I do not use cough syrum as it never reduces his coughing or controls it. Ive given him over the counter baby cold medicine and that's helped more.

Teething does not cause cold symptoms. It sounds like she has a cold. There isn't much you can do for a cold except keep her at home, try to get her to drink liquids and if she has a high fever, give her Baby Tylenol every 4 hours to keep her comfortable. Try to relax and take naps when your daughter naps to stay rested.

change the cough med...she could be allergic to an ingred in the med....also may want to try giving vit D milk for the rash (rub it in)...for the other stuff try having her breath in the steam of water and salt...i know sounds weird but does work
