hi my son is 20 months ,i am concerned he might be autistic he is a very picky eater he will never eat a full sandwich only half same with toast then spits it out. i put him in his highchair at tea time at table with rest of us give him same foods but he eats 3 or 4 mouthfuls then spits it out . he would never eats lumps when he was younger then went through phase of only eating green veg . the one food he will always eat all of is rusks. he spins round in circles every day . he has a yellow car that he sits on since january and he has been obsessed with it he steers the wheel really fast to the left then the right but he not really spinning the wheel he now moves my arm of the highchair so he can spin an imaginary wheel and goes mad if i dont move my arm he does same sat in pushchair and even when just standing there . constantly moving his hands as if spinning a wheel. he likes to park his car on top of something , anything my feet his toys even tried to do it on the cat if it not right when he done it he goes into a meltdown about it. he constantly plays with his hair and wants to p lay with mine like he likes the feel of hair on his fingers and again goes mad if i dont let him , he only like to play with things that can spin. his speech was bit delayed nothing was clear really apart from odd word then he stopped saying car and hiya for bout 7 months he will say it now if i ask him but he never says it on his own like he use to , but he use to sing part of the postman pat song , he now is copying what we say although not all clear. he loves trucks, cars, vans, buses and motor bikes. he frowns all the time over nothing has started sitting in a corner in my frontroom or in hall . he gets angry over nothing.does not like sharing at all . he knows all his body parts, and animal noises , can be quite loving , has eye contact, i just dont know what to think i would be greatful of any advice many thanks

Hi Stephanie the spinning is a concern. Look if he is diagnosed autistic you should look into the Gaps diet or SCD diet and put him on a priobiotic straight away. My son is in the autism spectrum. You should read the Gut and Psychology Syndrome by Dr.Natasha Campbell-McBride her son had autism and she got him back to normal and lots of other children have been on it too and have recovered. But you need to read the book to know excactly what to do as it is a complicated diet. Hopefully he is O.K and there is nothing to worry about.

Go to your doctor and tell him your situation and get him to send you to a pediatrician to be checked then you will know for sure and don't wait time is everything.
