My 8 month old son refuses his formula now and will only drink cows milk, I get goats milk when I can afford it because I know it's as close to breast milk as you can get but it's super expensive I also give him enfamil vitamins to supplement for what he's not getting anymore since he won't take formula, is this okay? I haven't been able to get in touch with his doctor.

I did read your whole post, but when you only tell half a fricking story you can't expect to get the advice you want. This is the internet, we are not almighty mind readers. Do you have any idea how many women ask if they can start their young babies on cows milk just for the hell of it? If you don't want to be lumped with that lot, you need to be specific. You want people to read the whole post, yet you can't be bothered to write the whole story. Your own fault there sweetheart.

If he will only drink cows milk then yes you clearly did start him on it. You are looking for a doctor's advice, if you can't get in touch with his doctor call a different doctor, this is not rocket science, we are not nutritionists. If you did your research you'd know that goats are nothing like humans so goat's milk is not anywhere near close to human milk, however it *is* gentler on a baby's stomach than cow's milk is. If vitamins and goats milk are the best you can do, then do it. You clearly don't want anyone to say anything but "yes that's ok" so why are you even asking? In any case cow's milk is very hard on a baby's stomach, if you can't find a formula he'll take, find a way to pay for the goat milk.

so what? You think I should just let him starve? Obviously you didn't read my whole post, I didn't "start" him on cows milk, he started refusing his formula, I tried several kinds, unfortunately my son has acid reflux and the kinds he can have are limited, as for breast feeding, I didn't produce milk, if you did your research, you'd know that goats milk is as close to breast milk as you can get, so you can take your rude judgmental bs somewhere else, and try reading a whole post before you open your mouth, thanks so much!

Why would you even start an 8 month old on cows milk? Babies should be on breast milk or formula until 12 months at least, because cows milk and goats milk don't have proper nutrition for a human baby. If you stop giving him milk altogether he will drink the formula when he's hungry.
