Hello my name is Erin I have since childhood dealt with a genetic disorder called bromhidrosis (chronic body odor caused by the excellrated growth of bacteria normally found on human skin) contributing to this is the fact that I also have hyperhidrosis(excessive sweating). This condition is rarely diagnosed in women in the U.S. In 1998 I had my son till age 3 there were no symptoms. until school there were no problems. After fighting with his school from kindergarten until sixth grade I called the dermatologist and made an appointment. my son was diagnosed in October of 2010 with the same condition. CPS wouldn't leave us alone. I have jumped through hoops for these people. My sons school has an anti bullying policy yet he came home daily in tears because not only the children were picking on him but the teachers as well. his science teacher had stood in front of a full class an informed my child that he smelled awful to the point of making her puke and she would not come over and help him ever unless he went home and took a bath. Outraged I went to the school yet again to "visit" with the principle. The man only responded with "I don't think that the teacher would do that". I told him for the sixth time this school year that what was happening to my child at his school was discrimination. there response every time was to call social services because my child in there eyes was obviously not taking a bath because he had an odor. continuing to say NO! I headed to court with CPS who informed a judge that my current husband was a cousin not my husband and that my sons hygene was concerning because he had an odor. That his mental health was in question because of the constant taunts from his classmates and a judge placed him in a mental facility. After two weeks he was given to my sister who I have been feuding with since she slept with my sons father. (and haven't even talked to in over a year). I need help fighting this system who have turned me into a crying mess !!!! If anyone can help please respond.

I started with a public defender whom obviously has no clue about this disorder. then took every cent I had to hire a "good" attorney who tells me that it could take years because even with proof I am right in family court you are guilty till you prove beyond any reasonable doubt you are innocent. The delay in getting my son diagnosed was my own selfishness really. Not wanting him to go through every thing I have in life the testing and poking just to be told hey this is what you have this will help it but sorry there is no cure its just the way your body works. In the mean time my sister has scrubbed the child until all the oil in his skin is gone causing sever dryness. a raw itchy rash has broken out over 80 percent of his body and she says its because he wasn't bathing correctly.

Didn't your lawyer present all the medical records proving this disorder? Why did it take you over 6 years to seek a diagnosis when YOU have this same condition? How is your son doing now?

I'm sorry for all you are going through, but other than having a good lawyer, presenting all the evidence, and doing whatever the court orders you to do to get your son back... I don't know what else to tell you.
