I have treated both my boys with olive oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil over the last couple of years and in a couple of months it returns. Im desperate to find a long term solution. I've heard that anti dandruff shampoo works well to keep it at bay can anyone help??

Listerine mouth wash, really!! I did daycare for years and had a toddler with cradel cap. Her mother was afraid to mess with it. So I asked if I could try an old family cure, she said PLEASE DO!

I got out a towel, had the little girl lay her head on it and slowly put the Listerine on her scalp, massage it around with a nice soft baby brush. Then towel dried it, sat her in a little chair in front of me with her favorite show on. Then over days parted out a little section at a time and gentley used a comb to lossen the cradel cap. It was smothering her little scalp like a crust. It looks a bit flakey right after, so don't do it right before you leave the house. It really works.

Yes, anything that is harsher than kids or baby shampoos work well, anti dandruff is ideal, child shampoos are so mild they don't get rid of any build up, if I use my daughters shampoos too often I get any itchy head. Try just using anti dandruff every other wash or so.

Ask your doctor for a cortisone cream or prescription dandruff shampoo. If it's that bad they should have no problem giving it to you.

Thanks ladies,

I tried a mixture of bi carbsoda and oil last night it worked quicker then oil it self. I'm taking both of them to a skin specialist next week. And will see how the head n shoulders goes at keeping it away. Im happy to hear any other tips. Wow never thought of Listerine!!
